Here’s a good example of why you need to measure your loads and pay attention to those bridge height markers on the highway. As reported by theINDYchannel.com, this road grader was recently being hauled on the back of a tractor-trailer when it clipped a bridge overpass near downtown Indianapolis.


Thankfully, there were no injuries. The grader was severely damaged and the road was badly gouged, but there was no structural damage to the bridge. The driver was cited for hauling a load that was too tall.
